I would like to
share with you
all how God
changed my life
in so
many
ways. I left the
Amish commu-
nity at the age of
17 in July 2011.
I was living an
ungodly
life,
very rebellious
and hiding all
my sins in my
heart, pretending
I was a good
person as long as
I did some good things, which that was kind
of the way it was where I grew up. But God
knew everything that was in my heart. I
sometimes felt guilty but pushed it away,
knowing if Jesus came now, I had no doubt,
I was going to hell.
My thoughts were that someday I'll live my
life for Jesus but I looked at it as being a
hard and unhappy life, with all the rules we
had to follow in the Amish, so I just kept on
letting the devil take over my life.
It just so happened that I came to live with a
loving and kind hearted Christian couple --
Derek and Daniela Felde. I moved in with
them as soon as I came out of the Amish,
since I really didn’t have another place to
go. They would take me to church every
Sunday. I felt uncomfortable every time I
went because I knew I was a bad sinner,
with all the things I'd done in my passed; I
still wanted to live in my own old ways. But
I kept on going.
I remember one Sunday I missed church
because the night before I had done the most
miserable thing. I went out drinking with
some of my friends I had back then, and had
promised the people I stayed with I won’t
do it as long as they let me go. I broke the
promise and how I regretted it and felt so
terribly miserable. I was afraid they would
never forgive me for what I had done, and
would make me move out. But they forgave
me and gave me another chance. How I just
Praise God for another chance.
I want to tell you all how thankful I am for
wonderful people like they are. They didn't
give up on me and that is the most amazing
thing. If it wasn’t for them and others who
surround me and show their love towards
me, I'd probably still be living my life the
way that leads to destruction. I feel so sorry
for what I caused them to go through, and I
don’t know how I can repay them for what
all they have done for me. My prayer is that
if a lost child like me comes along, I just
want to be willing to help him/her in any
way I can, and to let them know how much
God loves them.
I didn't get saved till Sept. 25, 2011. How
grateful I am for our Heavenly Father who
showed me His mercy and love! There's no
greater joy and happiness then when you let
God guide your life. He is the most wonder-
ful thing in the world. He is a friend that
you can trust with all your heart and is al-
ways there for you in times of trouble. He
does wondrous things for you, if you trust
him and give your life over to him.
I so love to go to church now and I thank
God for bringing me here to people who are
loving, caring and kind. I didn’t know any
former Amish Christians at the time I got
saved but I got to meet some not too long
ago. It was one of my greatest pleasures! Oh
I'll never forget how wonderful it was.
Thank you for letting me share my testimo-
ny, and God bless you all for what you’re
doing to reach out to the Amish. May God
continuously bless the Map Ministry!
