Cross Point: Friday Night Worship !
On February 4, 2014, a docu-
mentary produced by Callie
Wiser, featured former Amish
from across the U.S. Here is a
quote from the PBS website
about the film:
“What is it like to be cut off
from your faith and your fam-
ily? The Amish: Shunned
follows seven people who
have chosen to leave their closed and tightly-knit communities for the
outside world, knowing they can never return. Each has paid deeply
for their decision. Estranged from loved ones, these former Amish
find themselves struggling to make their way in modern America.”
Familiar faces to many MAP readers featured in the documentary are Joe
Keim, Levi Shetler, Saloma Furlong, Naomi Kramer, and Katie Troyer.

A fresh wind of worship has blown through the
Cross Point groups since January. The worship ser-
vices are hosted by Perry and Maryann Keim in the
pole barn at their home in Ashland, Ohio.
In January the speakers and worship leaders were
Uriah Shetler and David Mast. After the worship,
fellowship, snacks, and games were enjoyed by eve-
ryone.
In March the guest speaker was Brandon Quail and
worship was led by Eric Johnson. Food, fun, and
fellowship followed the worship service.
This quote from Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who was a
theologian put to death by the Nazis during World
War 2, shares a wise observation about worship:
“It is the voice of the Church that is heard in sing-
ing together. It is not you that sings, it is the
Church that is singing, and you, as a member of the
Church, may share in its song.”
What a glorious way to think of worshipping the
Lord through music!
Sing unto God, sing praises to his name:
extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his
name Jah, and rejoice before him.
Psalm 68:5
