Therefore, they both must approach God through His Son
Jesus Christ. Knowing this truth is what will stir love,
concern, and care within the hearts of believers for fallen
brothers.
“And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased;
and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted”
(Mt.23:12).
“Most men will proclaim every one his own
goodness: but a faithful man who can find?” (Pr.20.6).
ILLUSTRATION:
All ground at the foot of the cross is level. There is no
spiritual hierarchy for men to climb in this life. A dynamic
example of this truth was Saint Francis of Assisi, who was the
founder of the Order of Friars (Franciscans). He lived out his
life in an attempt to imitate Christ, to live just as Christ had
lived upon earth. He set a dynamic example for all of us in one
primary thing; he had a firm grasp on this eternal truth:
When someone asked [him] why and how he could
accomplish so much, he replied: “This may be why. The
Lord looked down from Heaven upon the earth and said,
“Where can I find the weakest, the littlest, the meanest man
on the face of the earth?” Then He saw me and said, “Now
I’ve found him, and I will work through him. He won’t be
proud of it. He’ll see that I am only using him because of his
littleness and insignificance.”
Could God say the same things about you?

WORK (v.4).

work
refers more to conduct and behavior than to
employment. Of course, employment or work is involved, but
the point of this verse deals with
all our behavior
