Four Ways We Can Rob
Ourselves Of God's Blessing
1. Judge ourselves:
… I judge (try, condemn) not mine own self … he that
judgeth me is the Lord … who both will bring to light the
hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the
counsels of the hearts… —1 Cor 4:3-5
2. Condemn ourselves:
There is
therefore now
no condemnation for those who
are in Christ Jesus. —Romans 8:1
God is infinitely greater than our hearts ( in not
condemning us). When we realize this, our hearts no
longer accuse us

3. Not accept His unconditional love:
The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I
have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with
lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
—Jeremiah 31:3
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while
we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. —Romans 5:8
4. Not accept His invitation to minister to
us:
And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be
gracious unto you … he will be very gracious unto thee
at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will
answer thee. —Isaiah 30:18-19
God knows and loves you, warts and all. By judging or
condemning yourself, you belittle the great grace of
God. So relax in Him and drink in His immeasurable
