The Amish Voice 4

Do you struggle with lust or

other sins and addictions?

To Kill a Lion

, written by Bruce Lengeman, is designed

to help men find the roots of their sexual addiction. The

theme is, “Men cry out, ‘I know it is wrong, but why

can’t I stop!’” The book is for both counselors and

strugglers.

To Kill a Lion

will help men understand

their own sexuality and what makes it operate “out of

alignment” with God’s design. You’ll learn why it is

healthy to be sexual as a man, but in a pure and Godly

way. Though this book was not written for women,

many are reading it and getting understanding of things

they never knew about sexuality.

There are very few things as powerful as

praying women. The tenacity of a woman

praying for those she loves is a force to

be reckoned with! Today I would like to

address something that can hinder this

force.

Do you ever feel like you are praying and

praying to no avail? One of the most

powerful forces in making sure your

prayers bring change is to make sure your

heart is properly aligned with the Lord.

I'll give you an example. For years I have

prayed that my husband's priorities would

be lined up with God’s, that he can keep

God first, me second, the children third,

etc. But for years this has been an area

where the enemy keeps attacking our

family in one way or another, bringing

much frustration and hurt.

Now, you would surely think God would

honor such an amazing prayer, wouldn't

you? But God hit me squarely between

the eyes when He reminded me of

Matthew 6:33, which says,

But seek ye

first the kingdom of God, and his

righteousness; and all these things shall

be added unto you.

Not only did I have my focus on getting

all my work done and beautifying our

home (both are really good things in their

own place), but I did not give my

husband the priority in my heart and in

our home that was rightfully his. You

see, how can God move to answer my

prayer to help my husband with his

priorities if mine are not lined up to His

Word?

Many times I became frustrated and

angry that I as the wife needed to be the

strong one and do what is right first, but

really, I needed my viewpoint changed

just a bit to see that when we first make

sure that our hearts are properly aligned,

we RELEASE God's hands to begin to do

the work we wish to see done in our

husbands! Alignment always releases

God to do the work. It releases us from

needing to fight our own battles. It

releases us from victimhood!

Today, as women, let's be okay with

being strong. Let's be okay with first

lining up our hearts with God's Word,

because it will release Him to pour out

His favor and blessing on our lives! It

may seem unfair and hard, but it will

create an open heaven above us, which is

totally in our favor! God bless you today!

Praying Women

Can You Find Sixteen Books Of The Bible?

PUZZLE:

Yes, there are actually 16 books of the Bible

contained in the paragraph below. How many can you

find? One person found fifteen in 20 minutes, but it took

him 3 weeks to find the 16th one. Can you find all sixteen?

I once made a remark about the hidden books of the

Bible. It was a fluke. It kept people looking so hard for

facts and others it was a revelation. Some were in a jam,

especially since they were not capitalized. But the truth

finally struck home for numbers of readers. To others it

was a real job. We want it to be a most fascinating few

moments for you. Yes there will be some really easy ones

to spot. Others may require judges to help them. I will

quickly admit it usually takes a minister to find one of

them and there will be a lamentations when it is found. A

little lady says she brews a cup of tea so she can

concentrate better. See how well you can compete. Relax

now for there really are sixteen names of the books of the

Bible in this story.

You can find the answers on page 7.
