More Information: Benevolent Fund
Benevolent Fund
Providing emergency help for Amish and former Amish people in urgent need of shelter, food, medical care, counseling, and protection.
Your gift makes it possible to respond quickly when individuals and families arrive needing immediate help.
Why the Benevolent Fund Exists
More and more Amish and former Amish people are showing up for emergency help. Sometimes, they need shelter and food. At other times, they may require medical help, counseling, and protection.
It is for these and many other reasons that Mission to Amish People has established a special checking account called the Benevolent Fund. This fund allows us to respond quickly when needs arise and provide short-term support in critical moments.
How the Benevolent Fund Works
Emergency Needs
When a person or family comes to the ministry in crisis, they may need help with basic necessities such as food, clothing, shelter, or transportation. Others arrive needing medical care, counseling, or protection from difficult or unsafe situations.
Benevolent Program Directors
Those who come for immediate help are sent to Wayne and Chris Vallowe, directors of the Benevolent Program. The Vallowes meet with each individual or family and guide them through a thoughtful, caring application process.
Application & Approval
Through the application process, needs are evaluated and verified. If approved, the Benevolent Fund is used to assist them with short-term financial help, enabling them to stabilize and take the next steps forward.
Your Role as a Partner
Your giving allows MAP to say “yes” when emergencies arise. By contributing to the Benevolent Fund, you help ensure that no one is turned away when urgent needs and unexpected crises come to our door.
The Benevolent Fund is a vital safety net for Amish and former Amish people who have nowhere else to turn. Together, we can offer practical help, spiritual encouragement, and a clear picture of Christ’s love in action.
