Obedience to God - Paul Miller

March 9, 2016

It is better to obey than sacrifice, God says. Jesus said if we love Him, we will keep His commandments. We are not under the law, but under grace, so what are the commandments that we should obey? Are we obeying God if we strictly keep a list of religious rules and commands but our hearts are not right with Him? What does it mean to obey? What about love? What about freedom in Jesus? We can obey without love, but we cannot love without obeying. Christians should be the most obedient people, but also the most loving. How do these two aspects fit together? Listen to this conference call about what Biblical obedience means.

Ye Must Be Born Again - Paul Miller

February 8, 2016

One of the most essential and important topics in the entire Bible is the new birth. Jesus said that in order to see the kingdom of God, you MUST be born again. This is not optional. This is not a lifelong process. This is an event that must take place in order for you to have eternal life. It is much more than following rules, being baptized, or joining a church. We can do all those things without ever having been born again. We must be changed and be given new life by the Spirit of God. He makes us new. If we die without being born again, it is too late. Listen to our conference call about the new birth and follow along as we discuss from Scripture what the new birth is and what it means—and be certain that you have been born again!

Lord's Supper - Paul Miller

December 18, 2015

When was the last time you participated in the Lord's Supper (communion)? Some churches believe communion should be taken every Sunday in church. Others take communion two to six times a year. While some use real wine, others use grape juice... does it matter? Some believe the unleavened bread and juice/wine represent Christ’s body and blood; others believe it is the very substance of Christ's body and blood... these would go so far as believe that one is saved when they take of the cup and bread. What is scriptural? What is not? Listen to our Amish Voice Conference Line recording and decide for yourself.

Water Baptism - Paul Miller

October 15, 2015

There are some Christians who believe water baptism washes away sin and is necessary for one’s salvation. Others, believe baptism is based on works; therefore, does not play any part in one’s salvation. In addition to those beliefs, there are also certain church denominations who baptize infants; others believe baptism is only for adults who have had a new birth experience. Some sprinkle, some pour and others immerse the whole body in water. Some baptize one time backwards and others baptize three times forward. Lastly, some baptize in Jesus’ name only while others baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Who is right? Listen to the Amish Voice Conference Line discussion.

Me ... Go to Church? Why? - Joe Keim

May 4, 2015

For 2,000 years, the Lord Jesus has used the local church as a vehicle (mouth piece) to call tens of thousands of missionaries to the mission field. The Lord Jesus has used the local church as a way for His people to come together in one place and worship His Holy name. It is at the local church, where spiritually gifted teachers, preachers, evangelists, elders and deacons serve the Lord Jesus and His people. The local church is the place where hurting hearts get encouraged, challenged, convicted and driven to make a difference in our generation. When I hear God’s own family members poke fun at the local church, run her down, call her names, find reasons to not attend and, yes, even mock her … it breaks my heart. The truth is, those who find continued fault with the local church, and refuse to attend, are clearly casting their vote to close the doors of the local church.

October 6, 2013

Men cry out,
I know it’s wrong, but why can’t I stop? This is a common cry throughout our culture from Christian men who are seeking to find freedom from the nagging grip of sexual lust. In To Kill a Lion, Bruce Lengeman takes men beyond behavior modification and answers the question, “but what’s driving the drive?” Some approaches to sexual purity adequately tell men, “It’s bad! Don’t do it!” but don’t give men real solutions. To Kill a Lion is about destroying sexual roots. It is about who a man is, not just what he does.

The 5-fold Appeal to be Justified by Faith Alone - Amish Voice Panel

August 4, 2013

Tonight's discussion is taken from Galatians 4:8-11: A person is justified by faith and not by law nor by works. It does not matter how many good works a person does nor how good he may become; he can never secure perfection. Therefore, a man can never earn or win the right to live in God’s presence. A man cannot make God accept him—put God in debt—by being good and doing good.

It was to extend only from Moses to Jesus Christ, for Jesus Christ is “the seed” to whom the promise of righteousness was given. God never intended the law to be the way of salvation. It was only for the temporary purpose of showing men their sin and its awfulness.
