St. Lawrence County has long been home to a thriving Amish community whose horse-drawn buggies share our rural roads year-round. Recently, however, our county has seen an increase in motor-vehicle-related crashes involving Amish buggies. As winter weather approaches, the St. Lawrence County Traffic Safety Office is urging all motorists to take extra precautions to keep our roads safe for every member of our community.
