A Voice in 20,000 Amish Homes
When the first issue of the Amish Voice was printed in 2007, it reached about 2,000 Amish households. God has steadily enlarged that outreach. In 2025, we added 2,500 households without having the funds in hand, bringing the mailing list to 17,500 families. Within two weeks, an Amish preacher sent $15,000 and asked that it be used for the Amish Voice. His gift reminded us that when God places a burden on our hearts, we must be willing to step forward in faith.
That provision strengthened our confidence that the Lord was leading us and encouraged us to keep listening when the burden to reach more homes did not go away.
We are now preparing to add another 2,500 households so the Amish Voice can reach 20,000 Amish families every other month. We are also strengthening its content. New article series address questions, traditions, struggles, and spiritual issues that directly touch Amish life. They do so lovingly and clearly while continually pointing readers to Jesus Christ and the Word of God. Beginning in January, readers will see some of our strongest articles, including series such as Matters of the Heart and What Is the World.

Each mailing costs about 85 cents per household. You may feel led to sponsor 50, 100, 500, or another number of families. Each sponsorship places biblical teaching in another Amish mailbox.
We are also considering a tabbing machine upgrade costing approximately $50,000. Preparing the mailing ourselves could save the ministry significant expense, and volunteers could tab about 20,000 copies in less than four hours. We are exploring Christian grants and praying for God’s provision as we take this next step.
Faith sometimes requires moving forward before we can see how every need will be met. The numbers may not yet make sense, but doing nothing feels harder than taking the next faithful step.
Meeting in Holmes County
A second gathering of pastors and ministry leaders was held in Holmes County on August 29. More than 30 attended, including eight Amish men. At the first meeting, 20 to 25 leaders had agreed that no meeting, argument, or human plan can manufacture an awakening. Only God can change hearts and open doors closed for generations. The central burden remained the same: What will it take for walls to come down so the gospel can move freely among the Anabaptist people?
When the group discussed what separates believers, the mode of baptism and the gifts of the Spirit quickly surfaced. Differing convictions about immersion and pouring created tension. Strong opinions also emerged as the discussion turned to spiritual gifts, casting out demons, and deliverance ministries.
The report brought Paul’s words to the divided church at Corinth to mind. Paul did not say baptism was unimportant, but he returned the church to its center: “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel” (1 Corinthians 1:17). Jesus Christ and the gospel must remain central. Other issues can become walls between people who share a desire to see souls saved.
Pastors must protect their churches from false teaching, and unity must never require setting biblical truth aside. Yet we must also guard against making our positions, traditions, or interpretations more important than pointing people to Christ. We could pray for revival and still miss it if God works outside the boundaries we have drawn.
True revival will not belong to any denomination. It will belong to God and lead people to see their need, believe the gospel, and give God the glory. It will produce changed lives, love for God’s Word, and a desire to follow Christ. It may not look exactly as any of us expect, and it may involve people or churches outside the boundaries we prefer. We will continue praying, preaching the gospel, building relationships, and speaking the truth in love. We must also ask God to search our hearts and remove any walls within us.
Amish Awareness Conference
Our recent Amish Awareness Conference in Corry, Pennsylvania, started with a lot of anticipation and excitement and ended with even more as we rejoiced over the two salvations.
One of the most powerful parts of these conferences is hearing the testimonies of those who have come out of the Amish culture. Several shared what God has been doing in their lives, the struggles they have faced, and how much they had to forsake to follow Christ. They remind us that following Christ sometimes comes with a great cost.
We also want to express our appreciation for Pastor David Lindsey and the effort he and his wife Jesse have put into reaching the Amish in their part of the country. About half of those who attend Gift of Grace Fellowship come from an Amish background. David and Jesse have poured an enormous amount of time, prayer, and heart into these families. We are thankful for their faithfulness and for their desire to reach people with the gospel and help disciple them in their walk with Christ.
If you live near an Amish community and have a desire to reach and disciple Amish people, we would love to come alongside you. Our Amish Awareness Conferences usually begin on Friday evening and finish on Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon, depending on the needs of the church. There is no charge for these conferences. Love offerings are appreciated.
If there are only one or a few people in learning how to share the gospel with Amish people and disciple them, we invite you to come to our ministry for a one-day training. We will cover the same outline and topics that we teach during a weekend conference, but in a smaller, more personal setting. This gives us more time to answer questions and talk through the challenges you may face in reaching the Amish in your own community.
Contact us, and we will send you a booklet explaining the topics and structure of a weekend conference. Our goal is to equip more churches and individuals to reach their community. The need is far greater than what we can do as one ministry.
God is moving in so many areas. Doors are opening, lives are being changed, and people are searching for truth. We urge the church to get involved. Now is the time to join the Lord where He is working.
Property Update
A neighbor, next to the ministry, recently shared that she plans to sell her two-acre property within the next two months. While it does not directly connect to our property, it is fairly close to the ministry. We have also already received township approval to move forward with our new office building.
Tim, who spent most of his life overseeing building projects has agreed to oversee our entire building project. Another man, Martin, has volunteered to draw up the building plans. He previously drew the plans for Beyond Measure Market and New Beginnings Homestead.
Our hearts are filled with gratitude. It has been a long and sometimes discouraging process as we waited and wondered what God had for us. Keep praying. We will keep you updated as more developes.
$5,000 Matching Gift Opportunity

Recently, a donor and friend of the ministry shared that she felt led of the Lord to offer a matching gift of up to $5,000. While we do not offer matching gift opportunities very often, we wanted to share this special opportunity with those who may feel led to give.
All gifts toward this match will go directly to the SonLight Club. It has been a struggle to keep up with the cost of this ministry throughout the summer. Yet, this year alone, nearly 400 Amish students have shared testimonies of accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior through the Bible lessons they completed!
Each month, thousands of Bible lessons arrive at our office and are sent back out to Amish children and young people. This matching gift will help strengthen the SonLight Club fund so we can continue reaching them with the Word of God.
Thank you for your prayers and for giving as the Lord leads. We are deeply grateful for your continued care and generosity!
