Your new neighbors may drive a buggy — Ohio’s Amish population is growing

Ohio’s Amish population is on the rise — up nearly 10,000 people in the past five years alone, according to data collected by theYoung Center for Anabaptist and Pietist Studiesat Elizabethtown College.

It’s part of a national trend.

The population across the U.S.has doubledsince 2000; there are now about378,000 Amishpeople living in the country.
