Where Will You Spend Eternity?
Question: Is there life after death?
Answer: You can KNOW that you are going to Heaven!
Question: Have you ever wondered about life, and if there really is a life after death?
Answer: Maybe there isn't...
Question: but what if there is?
The truth is that you can KNOW that you are going to Heaven!
If you don't KNOW that you are going to Heaven, then there is a good chance that you are not. Here are some thoughts for your consideration.
If...
If Heaven is real and hell is real, is it worth the chance that you might spend an Eternity in hell?
If you could KNOW that you were going to Heaven would you want to?
If hell is real, is there someone you know, or care about, that you would not want to go to hell?
Would you like to KNOW that you are going to Heaven? Let me tell you where I'm coming from, and see if you can relate.
All my life I was told...
"If you do this, you are going to hell"
"If you don't that, you are going to hell"
After years of this sort of advice, I figured I was going to hell anyway, so why not just live it up, and when I die and go to hell,...all my friends will be there anyway.
But here's the truth: I was LIED to! Here are some of the many things I was told (have you also heard some of these?)
"If you don't get baptized, then you won't go to heaven"
"If you don't obey your parents, then you won't go to Heaven"
"If you don't dress in plain clothing, then you won't go to Heaven"
"If you don't die Amish, then you won't go to Heaven"
If...If...If...Can you relate?
Let's put away our "religious" heads for just a moment and reason it out. (this is so important):
First: Realize that Heaven is not a "reward" and Hell is not a "punishment". They are places.
Second: You don't have to be "good" to go to Heaven....You have to be "perfect"!
Third: Don't worry...you are NOT perfect, but God has a plan! (Keep reading and you know His plan)
Fourth: THINK! let's reason together...forget "religion" for a moment.
Question: "How MANY sins did Christ pay for when He died on the cross?" (Focus on the phrase "How MANY")
Answer: The Bible says He paid for ALL sin. This means He paid for all past, present, and future sins.
Question: If He paid for ALL sin, and if we accept that payment, then how many sins are there left for us to pay for?
Answer: NONE! And since ALL of our sins have been paid for, then we can go to Heaven, not because we deserve it, but because the price was paid for us when Jesus died on the cross.
Question: What is sin and what is a sinner?
Answer: Most of us would say, "I don't sin", or "I'm not that bad", or "what gives you the right to call me a sinner?" But God says sin is anything we do that would cause us to miss the "mark", and in this case, missing the "mark" is "perfection"! The Bible says, in Romans 6:23, that "the wages (or payment) for sin is DEATH."
THINK! If there were sin in Heaven, then there would be death in Heaven. Now, I know you are not perfect; no one is, or was, or will be, except for JESUS. That is why Jesus died on the cross: to pay for all of OUR sins, not His.
Sound too simple? Sorry, I didn't make the rules. It's God's ball game and He made the rules. So it doesn't matter if you are rich, poor, black, white, tall, short, Baptist, Mennonite, Catholic, Amish, Presbyterian, etc., you can't earn your way to Heaven. It is a FREE gift.
You don't work and try to be good to get to Heaven; you try because you ARE going to Heaven. You will do more out of love than out of fear.
When I first heard this, I asked the following question: "Do you mean to tell me that if I believe that Jesus died on the cross for all MY sins, I can live as I please and still go to Heaven?"
Listen to the answer I got from my friend. It changed my life:
If he had said
"No, you must do this or that or stop this or that. I would have turned away and just gone on with life."
BUT he said...
"Son, that's a crude way to put it....But God loved you that much."
Yes, I am going to Heaven because of what Jesus did for me when He died on the cross. I now have the rights of a Son, but God now has the rights and responsibility of a Father to instruct and discipline. But His punishment will not be to kick me out. He loves me, and He loves you.
Look up the following verses in the Bible:
Romans 3:23...
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (ALL includes you and me.)
Romans 6:23...
"For the wages (payment) of sin is death." (Death is separation from God for Eternity.)
II Corinthians 5:21...
"For HE (God) has made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him." (The perfection or righteousness we need to go to heaven is GIVEN to us by God because of what Jesus did.)
Ephesians 2:8, 9...
"For by grace (God's mercy) are we saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, 'NOT OF WORKS' lest any man should boast." (You cannot earn your salvation by either doing something or NOT doing something.)
I John 5:13...
"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may KNOW that ye have ETERNAL life..."
You see....
John 3:17
"God sent not His Son into this world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved"...
Still not sure?
John 6:47
"Most assuredly I say unto you, he that believeth on Me has EVERLASTING LIFE"
1st
Jesus died on the cross about 2000 years ago.
2nd
Today, If you believe the fact that Jesus died on the cross for all of your sins, then the moment you believe, God promises to give you EVERLASTING LIFE.
3rd
If you are given EVERLASTING LIFE today, then you would have it tomorrow, next week, next year, and at the time of your death.
4th
If there were anything, again I stress, 'ANYTHING' you could do to lose it, it wouldn't be EVERLASTING.
Question? How long is EVERLASTING?
Answer: It means FOREVER, NOT just for a little while.
Think! If you could lose it, it wouldn't be everlasting. It would be temporary or until you sinned again.
Question? When does it say we HAVE this EVERLASTING LIFE?
Answer: When we believe.
Look at the verse again
- "...he that believeth on me, HAS, (possesses right now) Everlasting Life". That is forever!
I didn't say that--Jesus did!
I have no axe to grind. I don't make any money by you considering this. I'm going to be in Heaven no matter what you do, but even though I don't know you, I had to share with you something that I found out.
Ask yourself: "What do I have to lose? If it's not true, then nothing matters anyway."
Do you want to KNOW you are going to Heaven?
Then pray something like this:
"Father I don't know it all, (no one does), but the best that I know how, I accept the payment that Jesus made for my sin when He died on the cross. Please forgive me for every sin I ever committed against You. Thank You for loving me and giving Your Son to die in my place. I now confess to You that Jesus is Lord, and that He died and rose again. I invite You into my life, and ask you to help me become what You would have me to be. In the name of Jesus I pray this prayer. Amen"
If you prayed that prayer and meant it, according to God's word you will be in Heaven. Now thank him for what He has done!

What next?
Congratulations! WOW! If you have really prayed that prayer, the best that you knew how, and meant it, then Heaven awaits you at the end of this journey! But first you have to learn to walk.
We have to walk before, we can run!
You have begun the greatest journey of your lifetime. Whether you have just put your trust in Jesus for the first time, or whether you have been a follower of Christ for a while, your decision to get serious about your faith is significant.
Scripture tells us that Heaven throws a party when one of God's Creation comes into a new relationship with Him! If you are a new believer in Jesus, you have experienced what the Bible refers to as salvation. This process of salvation began the moment you realized that there was nothing you could do to own your salvation, and you trusted in the payment that Jesus Christ made for you when He died on the cross.
Let's revisit what has taken place in your life, look up a few verses, and make some notes about what each one says:
- Romans 3:23"All have sinned and come short of the glory of God"
- Romans 6:23 "For the wages (payment) of sin is death, but the gift of God is ETERNAL life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
- Ephesians 2:8-9 "For by grace are you saved through faith, and that NOT OF YOURSELVES. It is the gift of God, NOT OF WORKS lest any man should boast."
- 2 Corinthians 5:21 "For He has made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin. That we might be made the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD in him"
- John 3:16 "For God so loved (your name), that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him, should not parish but have EVERLASTING life."
- John 6:47"Verily, verily I say unto (your name), he that believes on Me HATH (possesses NOW) everlasting life."
- John 6:37 and 39 "All that the Father gives me shall come to me, and him that comes to me I will in NO WISE (for no reason) cast out" vs. 39 "And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose NOTHING (that includes you), but should raise it up again at the last day."
- 1 John 5:13 "These things have I written unto (your name), that believe on the name of the Son of God, that (your name), may KNOW (not think, maybe or perhaps) that (your name), has EVERLASTING life"
What a GREAT feeling to KNOW that God loves you that much!

What Next?
The race is about to begin!
- Hebrews 12:1-2 Wherefore, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."
Have you ever won a race? Can you even imagine winning an Olympic event: the glory...the fame...and just think of the money! And what about the show "Survivor"... $1,000,000! Wouldn't that be fantastic? Somebody is going to win.
But what do the winners have in common?
Winning never comes easy. It takes effort; a lot of effort, but the victory is worth it. In fact, just qualifying for the game is remarkable. Someone once said, "If you look at the back of the Book, (Bible), WE WIN! Well that's great, but we're not at the finish line yet.
What Next?
This section is to help you "run the race". I hope you will join us in this adventure because waiting at the finish line is Someone with open arms. He is the same One who had open arms almost 2,000 years ago when He died to give us, not only victory over sin, but also a life that is filled with joy, hope and peace. This is the same One who is with you and me as we run this race.
It takes a real man or woman who wants to accept the mandate that God has laid before us. If this is something that you want to pursue, then I invite you to the next step.
