Home Made Bread

Ingredients
1 qt. warm water
1 T. salt
1/2 c. sugar
4 T. lard
1 T. yeast
1/2 c. water
3 lbs. flour [10-12 c.]
Directions
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup lukewarm water. Add rest of water, salt, sugar and lard. Stir till lard is melted. Add half of flour and mix well. Add remaining flour and knead for 10 minutes. Grease top, cover and let rise until double in size, about one hour. Punch down, cover and let rise again for 30 minutes. Divide into four sections. Form loaves, place in greased loaf pans and let rise 60-90 minutes. Bake at 350^ for 30-35 minutes. Butter tops.
