Elliana Grace was born to Ervin and Miriam Troyer on July 21, 2013. She weighed 6 lbs 15 oz. Elliana is a blessing to her parents. They’re enjoying every minute with her. Congratulations, Ervin and Miriam!

Fall is the start of many family events and holidays. The crisp cool air and crunchy leaves brings a perfect time to do things with your family. It doesn't have to be an elaborate plan—just a day outside enjoying time together is fun! Below are five quick, fun ideas to share with your family this fall:

1. Stroll the local farmers' markets. Find some goodies for dinner or fall décor to take home.
2. Visit a pumpkin patch. Even if your kids are older, take a ride to a pumpkin patch! Get lost in a corn maze. Take photos of your kids sitting on enormous pumpkins!
3. Go on a family bike ride. Pack a lunch and stop along the way for a snack.
4. Bundle up and hit the beach! Dress warmly (if you need to!) and visit the beach. It looks, feels, and sounds different in the fall. And pack a picnic lunch, too.
5. Take a field trip to an apple orchard. Apple treats are a fall favorite. Visit a local apple orchard, pick a bounty the fresh fruit, and return home to make a delicious apple crisp, apple pie, or applesauce. Yum.

Harley Yoder has re-opened the previously known Merry-Go-Round ice cream shop located in Brookside Park at Ashland, Ohio. Rusty Cates, of WMAN FM radio, provided this about the event: “Harley Yoder grew up enjoying the Merry Go Round and says running the business is a longtime dream come true. He promises all your favorite ice cream and food items. Several previous employees will be rehired.”
The Yoder’s Red Barn Ice Cream shop re-opened June 14, 2013. The menu features 40+ flavors of ice cream and also hamburgers, hot dogs and other sandwiches (the sloppy Joes are YUMMY!), shakes, floats, fries and much more. Yoder’s Red Barn Ice Cream is open seven days a week from 11-9:30. It’s located at 428 Parkside Drive, Ashland, OH. Phone: 419-282-6277 Congratulations, Harley!

Monroe Raber loves to race, and his interest in racing has been a long-standing desire. Here’s what he has to say about racing:
“I have loved racing even back when I was Amish, I would actually spend Sunday afternoons upstairs in my room with a hand held radio n headphones listening to NASCAR , for probably at least 3 or 4 years before I left, then when I first left, the area where I lived really didn't have any race tracks close that I knew of, so then I moved to Jackson county where there's dirt tracks galore.
But still getting into racing is difficult especially for ex-Amish since I didn't know anybody that's currently racing, and knew I wasn't going to be able to afford to buy a race car by myself. So when we bought our house there was a go-kart track right beside it. I knew I wasn't going to be able to just sit at home and listen to them race on Friday nights. And also since they were only karts, I figured I would be able to at least afford that, so I finally spent the money, and bought an older kart for pretty cheap.
Right away (like I knew I would be) I was hooked, and the rest is history. I got one heat win and one feature win. I recently bought a newer kart and have been getting closer and closer to being in contention to win every weekend, which has been really exciting. I really feel like the Lord gave me a gift to race, and I always try to glorify Him when I have success. I’m getting to know more and more people that race, so I'm really hoping in the near future to move up to a fill sized race car.
My wife Tiffany has been very supportive, although she's not too excited about all the time I spend getting my kart ready or how much time we spend at the track, but she seems to be enjoying it a lot more as she gets to know more people. And, yes, she is very worried about my safety, and I know it's a little dangerous but I always tell her it's all in God’s hands, and I always pray before each race for the safety of me and all my competitors.”

Lovina Kuhns, Laura Yoder and Marvin Schlabach worked hard this past spring and summer to earn their GEDs. Marvin and Lovina received their GED certificates in June and Laura received her certificate in July. Congratulations to these new graduates!

METHOD ONE: GETTING A NEW CARD
Step 1: Gather Required Identity Documents
The government needs to verify your age, your identity, and your citizenship. In order to do this, you need to be able to provide the following documents:

• U.S. birth certificate or a U.S. passport for citizenship
• U.S. birth certificate, religious record showing date of birth, U.S. hospital record, or U.S. passport for age (Anyone older than 12 who requests a Social Security card must appear in person for an interview.)
• U.S. driver’s license, state-issued nondriver identification card, or U.S. passport for identity

Step 2: Print Out a Copy of Application on US Letter Paper
Two applications, both of which can be found on the official website of the U.S. Social Security Administration, are available: one for people inside the United States, and one for people outside the United States.

Step 3: Read All Instructions Carefully
An incomplete, misleading, or fraudulent application may delay the application process.

Step 4: Fill Out Application
Use blue or black ink pen.

Step 5: Submit Application with Your Documents
Applications can be submitted by mail or in person to your local Social Security office.
NOTE: If you live in one of the following locales, you must apply in person or by mail to a Social Security Card Center, which is different from a Social Security office:

• Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, or Queens, N.Y.
• Orlando, Fla. (Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties)
• Sacramento County, Calif.
• Phoenix, Ariz. (Maricopa County and Apache Junction Area)
• Las Vegas, Nev.
• Philadelphia, Pa.
• Greater Twin Cities Metropolitan Area, Minn.

METHOD TWO: REPLACING A CARD AFTER NAME CHANGE
Step 1: Follow all directions in Method One
You must also provide proof of your new identity. For example, along with a birth certificate, provide a document proving a name change. This name change document must:

• Be recent (2 years ago or fewer)
• Identify you by both your old and new identity

Step 2: If your documents proving a name change are older than two years, provide documents to prove your identity in your prior name and, in some cases, your new legal name.

Step 3: Support the Requested Name Change
Establish that the name change you effected was in fact supported and not forced.

Step 4: Establish the Reason for the Change
"Normal" name changes, in the case of adoption or marriage, among others, are considered acceptable.

METHOD THREE: REPLACING A LOST CARD
Step 1: Follow all steps in Method One
Replacing a Social Security card requires the same steps as applying for a new one.

Step 2: In Case a Social Security Card is Stolen
Be aware of fraud. Follow these directions in the event of a stolen card:

• Place a fraud alert on your Social Security card by alerting one of the three credit bureaus: Trans Union, Equifax, or Experian.
• Review any information that seems out of place. This includes inquiries from companies you have not contacted; accounts you know you have not opened; and debts that you know you did not incur.
• Close any accounts that you know you did not open.
• File a police report in the city where you believed the theft to have taken place.

METHOD FOUR: GETTING A CARD FOR A BABY
Step 1: Give Information
To apply for a child's Social Security card, you'll need the baby's birth certificate.

Step 2: Complete an Application
You will want to supply the parents' Social Security numbers, if you have them, although they are not necessary to apply for the baby's card.

Step 3: Show Documents Proving Your Own Identity
These can be any of the following:

• Employee ID card
• School ID card
• U.S. military ID card
• Life insurance policy

Step 4: Adopted Child
You must wait until the adoption is complete. Then apply for a new Social Security card using the child's new name. (See Method Two.) Contact the IRS directly for a W-7A form if you wish to use your child's Social Security card to get a tax break.

More Tips:

• Applications can also be picked up at the office instead of printed out.
• Taking the application into the office has the benefit that you will receive a statement saying that your card is on the way. Many employers will accept this until the original arrives.
• To save time, get all of your information and documents together before starting the application.
• If you are concerned about your originals take the application to the nearest office to avoid mailing originals.
• Don't send in photo copies or notarized copies. You must send or take in the certified originals.
• If you are over the age of 12 and have never been issued a Social Security number, you must go into the office. You will also have to attend an interview.

Warnings:

• Do not carry your card with you. Keep it at home with other important documents.
• Do not give your Social Security information to people or organizations without knowing the reason they are asking for it.
• Unscrupulous individuals may try to use your Social Security information to open credit card accounts or other forms of identity theft.
• Do not apply for a Social Security card on any websites that do not end in ".gov".
