Goshen, Indiana - Authorities in Indiana shared video from the aftermath of an unusual road crash between two horse-drawn buggies.
The Elkhart County Sheriff's Department said a buggy traveling south along County Road 41, east of Goshen, went left of center Friday night and struck another buggy traveling northbound.

Polk County, Tennessee - UPDATE: A 13-year old girl who was aboard a buggy struck by a van Tuesday has succumbed to injuries she sustained in the crash.
Lt. John Harmon of the Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed the death Wednesday to WRCB-TV in Chattanooga.

Polk County, Tennessee - The Tennessee Highway patrol is investigating a crash in Polk County involving a horse drawn buggy and Ford van.
It happened on Lindsdale Road in Delano just before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Sherman, New York - The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says a teenager was hospitalized after an accident involving an Amish buggy early Monday morning.
The buggy was being pulled by a horse down Alder Bottom Road in the Town of Sherman shortly after 12 a.m. that morning. The 18-year-old man operating the buggy told deputies the horse became scared, making him lose control of the animal.

Warsaw Township, Pennsylvania – DuBois-based State Police say a vehicle collided with an Amish buggy yesterday on State Route 28, at its intersection with Reitz Crossing Road, in Warsaw Township, Jefferson County.
According to police, around 4:30 p.m. on December 26, 61-year-old Gerald A. Ross, of Reynoldsville, and 55-year-old David J. Byler, of Brockway, were involved in the collision.

Williamsfield Township, Ohio - Two people were hurt when a horse-drawn buggy was involved in a crash with a pickup truck.
Troopers say it happened around 7:05 p.m. Wednesday in Ashtabula County along Route 322 near Route 7.

Gladwin County, Michigan – An Amish woman was killed Monday evening when a van collided with the rear-end of her buggy. The accident happened around 5:31 p.m. on Beaverton Road just west of Townhall Road in Beaverton Township.
According to the Gladwin County Sheriff Department, the buggy was traveling westbound on Beaverton Road, as was another vehicle – a work van occupied by two people – the van struck the buggy from behind, killing the woman, Sarah Stutzman, 31, of Clare County.

Fairbank, Iowa - Three crashes between motorized vehicles and Amish horse and buggies in Buchanan County over the past six weeks have led to plenty of talk about safety and how to prevent more crashes.
“We’ve got a large (Amish) population and, with the sun going down earlier now, it’s getting more difficult to see those at night,” said Deputy Cory Hartmann of the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office. Travel Iowa estimates about 800 Amish residents live throughout Buchanan County.

Wingo, Kentucky - A collision between a car and an Amish buggy Wednesday afternoon in Graves County left three people injured.
According to the Graves County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened around 4:20 in the area of KY 339 West at the Purchase Parkway near Wingo. Deputies said 27-year-old Daniel Clapp was traveling west on KY 339 when he topped a hill and observed a horse and buggy traveling in the same direction. Clapp told deputies he could not stop in time and struck the buggy in the rear.

Marshfield, Wisconsin - A 10-year-old boy injured when a pickup slammed into the back of the horse-drawn wagon in which he was riding died Tuesday night.
Melvin C. Kempf, of Vesper, died at about 10 p.m. Tuesday, Wood County Sheriff's Department Capt. Shawn Becker said. On Nov. 20, a suspected drunken driver hit the back of a wagon hauling corn driven by Christian C. Kempf, Melvin's father, on Highway HH in the town of Hansen.

Goshen, Indiana - There were only minor injuries after a horse and buggy driven by a teen collided with another vehicle Sunday.
According to LaGrange County police, Elizabeth K. Miller, 16, LaGrange, was driving a buggy when she pulled into the intersection of CR 600 West and U.S. 20 and into the path of a 2007 Chevy SUV driven by Shala M. Cook-Hoover, 23, Wolcottville.

Vesper, Wisconsin - When Christian C. Kempf died after a pickup hit his wagon, the loss was felt beyond his family and his Amish community.
Kempf, 31, of Vesper, was well-liked by his coworkers, his neighbors and the Amish community, said Corbin King, who worked with Kempf at Doorworks Inc.

Lagrange County, Indiana - Two people were injured and a horse had to be put down after an SUV collided with a buggy Sunday evening in LaGrange County.
The buggy was being driven by a 16-year-old girl just after 9 p.m. when according to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department when it pulled out in front of an SUV heading east on U.S. 20 at the intersection with County Road 600 West.

The Buchanan County Sheriff is investigating an accident involving an Amish buggy. It happened shortly after 6pm Friday, southeast of Fairbank on County Road C-57.
A car driven by 23 year old Ashley Conner of Oelwein, was headed west, when she collided with the buggy, traveling in the same direction.

Fairbank, Iowa - A horse pulling a buggy with seven people inside was struck by a car from behind Friday night, but no serious injuries were reported.
The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office said the crash was reported about 6:10 p.m. in the 1400 block of 120th Street (County Road C57) southeast of Fairbank.

Leon, New York - A 43-year-old Cassadaga woman was killed Tuesday when her car struck a horse on Mosher Hollow Road and rolled over several times, ejecting the driver, law enforcement officials said Wednesday morning.
Cattaraugus County sheriff’s deputies said a car driven by Lerlene M. Rumsey of Route 60 was northbound on Mosher Hollow Road when it struck a horse as it was being walked across the road at about 9:01 p.m.

Strasburg, Pennsylvania - Two occupants of a horse-dawn buggy were injured in a crash about two miles south of Strasburg on Friday.
A van and the buggy collided at 7:30 a.m. in the 900 block of May Post Office Road, north of White Oak Road in Strasburg Township, Strasburg Fire Chief John F. Stoltzfus said.

Quincy Township, Indiana - A Branch County man whose former wife was killed four years ago in a similar accident was seriously injured Sunday when his horse-drawn Amish buggy was rear-ended by a car in a hit-and-run in Quincy Township.
The collision happened at around 4:15 p.m. on Jonesville Road.

Quincy, Michigan - A Branch County Amish couple suffered serious injuries Sunday afternoon when their horse drawn buggy was rear ended by a car in a hit-n-run collision. The crash occurred around 4:15 p.m. yesterday on Jonesville Road in Quincy Township.
Quincy Police Chief Scott Olney said the accident happened between Briggs and Clarendon Roads and the buggy was westbound when it was struck from behind and forced into a ditch. Rubin and Leeann Eicher were ejected from the buggy, which was totaled in the wreck.

It happened near the highway's intersection with Ridge Road, between the small communities of Moira and Stirling, at about 6:20 p.m.

Cambria Township, Michigan – An Amish family is searching for a horse – and part of a buggy – after the animal ran off Thursday evening and caused a crash in Hillsdale County.
At 6:55 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, troopers with the Michigan State Police Jackson Post responded to a two-vehicle crash at South Hillsdale and Reading roads in Cambria Township.

According to the Sanilac County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the scene around 9:52 p.m. after a a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta driven by 21-year-old Ubly woman Elizabeth Bowerman was heading east on Bay City Forestville Road near the intersection of Germania Road and struck a buggy, driven by 21-year-old Mose Kempf, of Bad Axe.

Plain Township, Ohio - An Amish man and two children remain hospitalized Monday in Akron after their buggy was struck by another vehicle in a crash Saturday night on state Route 95. Joseph Gingrich, 34, of Wooster, is in critical condition at Akron City Hospital, according to Lt. Stephanie Norman, post commander of the Wooster Post of the State Highway Patrol. Two children -- Katie Gingrich, 5, and Jacob Gingrich, 3, also of Wooster -- were still in Akron Children's Hospital Monday, Norman said.

Graves County, Kentucky - The Graves County sheriff said two children were released from the hospital after a car hit an Amish buggy in Graves County, Kentucky, killing one child and injuring five others.
On Friday, Oct. 16 at about 5:20 p.m., Sheriff Redmon said deputies were dispatched to a truck and Amish buggy crash on KY 58 West near KY 1283.

The incident happened on Oct. 13 shortly before 7 p.m. on Beaverton Road near Brand Avenue in Clare County.

Ashland, Ohio - The Ashland Post of the Highway Patrol is investigating an accident involving an Amish buggy that was hit by a vehicle on State Route 96 about 2 miles east of 545 on Saturday. One person in the buggy was reportedly transported to a Columbus Hospital. There was no immediate word on their condition and charges against the driver of the vehicle have yet to be filed.

Seymour, Wisconsin - A horse-drawn Amish buggy was struck from behind on a highway in Lafayette County Sunday night leading to a second collision.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to Highway 81 in the town of Seymour at 7:13 p.m. after a car traveling west struck the back of the buggy.

Columbia, Missouri -A 20-year-old Morgan County woman is recovering after a car crashed into her horse and buggy Saturday afternoon. The crash happened on Route C near Gracey Creek Road when the woman slowed up to make a turn. A car traveling behind the buggy struck it from behind. The woman’s injuries are not believed to be serious.

Pawnee City, Nebraska - The early morning sun may have been a factor in the crash of a car and a horse-drawn cart near Pawnee City on Wednesday, Pawnee County Sheriff Jayme Reed said.
Kyle Clow, 25, of Pawnee City was driving a 1994 Honda Accord when it collided with the cart driven by Kenneth Yoder, 23, also of Pawnee City. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Montcalm County, Michigan - An 8-year-old girl was flown to Grand Rapids with a head injury after being thrown from a buggy in a crash Tuesday afternoon, police say.
Sheriff's authorities and emergency medical workers responded about 3:24 p.m. Sept. 22 to South Townhall Road and East Boyer Road in Bushnell Township and found all four passengers of the buggy had been thrown off. The horse had broken free.

Kutztown, Pennsylvania - State police say two people were taken to a hospital following an accident involving a motor vehicle and a horse-drawn buggy in eastern Pennsylvania.
Trooper David Beohm said the motor vehicle was attempting to pass the buggy in Kutztown on Thursday afternoon when the driver tried to return to the right-hand lane to avoid an oncoming vehicle. In the process, he says the vehicle clipped the buggy, causing it to flip over.

The child was hit by a car on Route 28 near Plumb Road around 6:30 p.m., according to scanner reports.

Goshen, Indiana - Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies and emergency personnel responded Thursday at 3:07 p.m. to a reported motorcycle and buggy crash on CR 1350 North, near CR 200 West.
Responders arrived located the motorcycle driver, Tracy A. Newcomer, 58, Nappanee, in the roadway. Newcomer was airlifted from the scene and taken to Parkview Region Medical, Fort Wayne, in critical condition with head and multiple injuries.

One individual, a male, is being flown from the scene by Lutheran Air Ambulance, to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. A female is being transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital by Lutheran EMS-Kosciusko.

Kennedy, New York - Sheriff’s deputies say a woman whose driver’s license had been suspended was on her cell phone and distracted by her three children when her car hit an Amish buggy this morning near Kennedy, New York.
They say 29-year-old Amanda Braley of Kennedy was on the Falconer Frewsburg Road when her car crossed into the oncoming lane, where it hit the buggy that was carrying five people ranging in age from 39 years to 2 months old.

Rebersburg, Pennsylvania - At least one man was killed in an alleged DUI crash Friday night on Brush Valley Road in Miles Township.
State police at Rockview said two men were riding in a horse-drawn cart traveling east on state Route 192, also known as Brush Valley Road, when a Ford F-150 truck heading in the same direction hit the back of the carriage just west of Rockville Road.

Town of Greenwood, Wisconsin - A Hillsboro man is dead, tossed from an Amish buggy in Vernon County.
It happened just before 9 p.m. Thursday. According to the Sheriff's Office, 19-year-old Brandon Stanek of Hillsboro was in a company work truck, pulling a trailer, on County EE, West of County Q in the Town of Greenwood. He tried to pass a slow-moving horse and buggy, but saw a truck coming East right toward him and pulled back into the lane.

Warsaw, Ohio – Five Amish children were injured and one was lifeflighted to Columbus after a buggy crash Thursday evening in Warsaw.
The incident happened in the yard at the children’s home on Township Road 113, according to Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office. The horse was spooked and upturned the buggy.

Bloomfield Township, Indiana - A car rear ended a horse and buggy, injuring 6 and sending a toddler to the hospital.
Saturday afternoon, a car driven by Stacie Lynn Scott hit the buggy traveling south on CR 400 E just south of US20. Police don't know why she hit the buggy, but it happened with enough force to eject passengers before the car slid into a fence.

LaGrange County, Indiana - Six people in a buggy were injured -- including some who had to be flown to the hospital -- after they were rear-ended by a vehicle Sunday in LaGrange County.
That's according to the LaGrange County Sheriff's Department, which says the crash happened on C.R. 400 E, just south of U.S. 20.

State police from the Mt. Pleasant post were called to the area of 80th Avenue and 19 Mile Road at about 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Wooster, Ohio - A Berlin man was killed Tuesday night when a horse-drawn buggy crashed head-on into his motorcycle along Prairie Lane. Matthew E. Miller, 52, Rhine Road, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by Wayne County Coroner Amy Jolliff. His passenger, Jody R. Miller, 51, of the same address, remained at Akron City Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

The 17-year-old male driver of a horse-drawn vehicle was air lifted to a London hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries Monday after the horse turned in front of an oncoming pickup truck, police said.
Monday about 7:42 a.m. two occupants of a vehicle pulled east-bound by a horse on the East Back Line were ejected in a crash when the horse "suddenly turned into the path" of a westbound pickup truck, east of Rd. 190, a Grey County OPP news release said. The horse died of resulting injuries.

Presque Isle, Maine - Two members of a northern Maine Amish community were injured when their horse-drawn carriage was struck from behind by a motor vehicle Wednesday evening, according to Presque Isle police. The seriously injured horse was euthanized at the scene.
Naomi Swartzentruver, 44, of Easton and her 10-year-old daughter were heading south in the carriage on the righthand side of Route 10, also known as the Centerline Road, when the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Officer Mark Barnes said Friday.

Wayne Township, Ohio - A 16-year-old Dundee teen has been transported to Akron City Hospital following a collision with a commercial dump truck, shortly after noon Monday.
Justine N. Miller of Dundee was transported to the hospital by helicopter after the car she was driving was hit by a commercial dump truck driven by 40-year-old Jason Compton of Millersburg, according to Lt. Mark Glennon, commander of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Post in Tuscarawas County.

Bloomfield, Iowa - The Davis County Sheriff's Office says the Amish buggy was in the paved west-bound lane of Highway 2 before the collision.
The driver of the pick-up truck was travelling westbound and rear-ended the buggy.
Sheriff Dave Davis said the horse had gone lame before the family departed a store on Highway 2, and that's why the buggy was traveling on the pavement.

Eau Claire, Wisconsin - An Amish family was injured late Sunday when an SUV struck a buggy in the Eau Claire County town of Bridge Creek.
The crash is the third in the region involving an Amish buggy and a vehicle in recent months. The other two occurred in Chippewa County.
