ADSF Awards Funds for 2015! |
ADSF (Amish Descendant Scholarship Fund) is very excited to announce the 2015 scholarship winners. Once again, it was a very hard choice because if we could, we would help everyone. We're so excited to see so many former Amish students get a higher education and we believe they are setting an example for so many others to do the same. Our biggest congratulations to all the winners; we wish you all the best in your studies and personal development. To those who didn't win, we're very sorry. We wish you could feel how hard it is to not be able to help everyone. If it's any consolation, we've had to deal with sizable student loans ourselves! But hopefully with time we'll raise awareness and grow the fund so that other former Amish students won't! We'd like to sincerely thank our donors for making this year's scholarships possible. It means so much to us to be able to do this. Please join us in congratulating the winners as listed below: Leon Hostetler-3000, Lisa Yoder-1000, Lydia Miller-1000, Susie Swartz-1000, Regina Miller-3000, Mary Katherine Miller-3000, Katie Borntrager-2000, James Schwartz-1000 |

Monroe Raber Wins Feature Race! |
Monroe Raber was excited to report about his first win of the 2014 racing season. Monroe says he won first place three times in the 2013 season. Congratulations, Monroe! “I FINALLY DID IT! Won my first feature race of the season. Waited a long time for this one. I ran lights and medium. Won both heats and feature in lights, won one medium heat, second in the other heat, started outside pole for feature and was pushing the leader, trying to pass when I got punted out of second place and finished third. Need to learn how to pass more efficiently. All in all, a good night. Gotta thank all my sponsors: DAVIS LAWN AND LANDSCAPE, E&E CONSTRUCTION, TIFFANY'S DOG GROOMING, MJR BUILDING. I also wanna thank HAMMOND MOTORSPORTS for a stout engine, Coy Hanson Enterprises for fast tires, and SNIPER BODIES. The new body seemed to really help the kart handle better. And most of all, wanna thank the GOOD LORD for his protecting hand, keeping me and my competitors safe for a fun night of racing. On to the next one!! Top of Page |

Amish Descendent Scholarship Awards |
From Emma Miller: “We started working on this fund a long time ago and it feels amazing to finally reach our end goal and award the scholarship money to someone who is working hard to overcome the challenges of studying without parental support. If you come from an Amish background and wish to go to college, please get in touch with us. We are here to offer encouragement, answer questions and to give you the chance to win the scholarship next year. We will tell you a little bit about our scholarship winners so our donors know where their money has gone. Thank you to all of you who have helped by donating to ADSF. Our first scholarship of $1000goes to Marietta in Florida who is finally pursuing her dream of going to college. She is just starting out and we are happy to be able to offer her a little bit of financial support. She strongly feels that God has led her to start her journey in studying Business Management and she is excited to be working on her prerequisites.
Our second winner of the ADSF scholarshipis Ruth. She left the Amish many years ago in order to continue her education, but with no financial support, she found herself working full time and studying part time. Finally, 14 years later she is close to finishing her goal. She wishes to use her education to help people and she's studying Social Work and plans to work with teenagers.
