This Day is Salvation Come to this House |
On Saturday, April 17 at 9:45am, Duane Miller was born the second time. It took place at Perkins Restaurant in Ashland OH. Unlike the first birth, this one was spiritual and could not be seen with the naked eye. However, it was felt and just as real as Duane’s first birth in 1988. Like all other spiritual births, Duane’s birth was miraculous and greatly celebrated in heaven and on earth. According to the Gospel of John, Duane was born … not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. Long before I entered Duane’s life, someone had taken the time to plant the Seed. Others, came along and watered that Seed, and finally, on April 17 at 9:45am, God gave the increase. Paul said it this way: Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man? I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase (1 Cor 3:5-6). It was not the prayer that saved Duane from all his sins. It was his simple child like faith that Jesus paid it all. Jesus paid it all, all to him I owe Sin had left a crimson stain He washed it white as snow About 30 hours later, just 20 minutes north of Perkins Resturant, a searching mother of five, placed her faith in Jesus alone. Ruthie and a few others from her area started calling us back in March, wanting to know if we could help Ruthie and her five children escape a situation that turned desperate. After much prayer and many phone calls, an apartment opened up at New Beginnings. It has not been easy for Ruthie and her children. Each one is trying to make sense of life and to learn what it’s like to hold the hand of Jesus and allow Him to lead. Pray for Ruthie, Cindy, Timothy, Carolyn, Kaitlyn, and Michael. The following note is from our friend and missionaries, Eli and Leah Lee. Please be in prayer over the next few days for a young family who just left the Amish very recently and are experiencing serious persecution from their families and the church—and for us as we go and open the Bible with them and walk them through the truth of salvation and the power of the Holy Spirit. Last week, a van load of Amish came into their home, and after condemning and harassing them for 5 hours, they kidnapped the baby and mother, and took off to hide them away from the young husband and father. The young man was distraught. He called the police and informed them what had just happened, and by God's grace they were able to locate and stop the vehicle before it reached it's destination and save the mother from the mental torture and brainwashing she was about to have to endure, and was reunited with her husband. Needless to say, there is a lot of hurt and confusion in their minds as to what is true and what is man-made religion. So pray that they will know the truth, and the truth will set them free by the power of Jesus. |
Apartment Progress |
Dear Friend, Greetings of Love in the name of our Savior who was raised from the dead so that we could have eternal life! 1 CORINTHIANS 15:45 “And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.” The first day of spring has come, and I was ready for it to arrive! The Step out of the Boat Conference has also come and gone, and what a great time we had fellowshipping with many different people who were struggling emotionally, and some who were healed from their hurts. All in all, we met many new people and learned so much! We have done much traveling during the past month, and will be traveling more in the next month as well. By God’s grace, we have been blessed with health to be able to do so, and I trust that we will be able to continue. APARTMENT UPDATE: First of all, Polly and I would like to thank you so much for the generous donations. We received over $4,000, and are very blessed for the support. We were able to get the electric in, plumbing done, flooring, doors and trim. Kitchen cabinets have been ordered. Walls are painted. All that is left to do is to hook up light switches, plugs, etc.
Heins and Jennifer Spredemann donated a new Cedar bedroom set. Ora Jay and Irene Eash donated a quilt. We were able to purchase a washer and dryer from Lowe’s for less than half price. Blessings, Samuel, Polly and Family
PRAYER REQUEST: We will be traveling to Minnesota where Polly’s parents live and presenting the ministry. Please pray for the salvation of Polly’s parents. |
Volunteer |
Throughout the years, we have had many visitors at MAP who tour the ministry and volunteer their time. During April, we had the pleasure of having Diane Pifferetti Paulson from San Jose, California. Diane read about our ministry in a book and felt God calling her to help the Amish. After meeting Joe, she planned a trip to spend a week volunteering at MAP and seeing what our ministry entails. Diane has made plans to come back with her husband in July and volunteer for another week. They are looking for a quiet and peaceful place to invest their time during their retirement years. We have been very blessed to meet Diane and have enjoyed spending time with her and getting to know her. We pray that God will help her and her husband in their journey to discern where He wants them to serve. |
