2022 In Review |
As 2023 begins, rejoice with us through reading a short update from some of the ministries inside of MAP! We treasure both your prayers and financial support! BIBLE CLUB Sometimes we get so caught up in life that we forget the impact that we have on others. The letters that we receive from our students help remind me that God can use the little things that I do in my day-to-day life to impact others. Dear Bible Club, how are you doing? I'm doing fine. I'm very happy the last while. I love singing nice songs. I also want to be a good example for my younger brothers. My life is changed since I do the Bible Club. It sure helps me. I thank you for the New Testament. I love it and read it often. — Elmer The Bible Club, thank you for all the lessons, all the prizes, or everything else you've done for me. Jesus cares a lot about all of us, everyone. He made it so I knew Him through you. It seems I'm not worthy of Him for all He has done for me & I have not done my best sometimes. I want to do better in my part. Thank you for making it plain. Sometimes I didn’t quite understand the Bible (sad to say), but you made it clear. Thank You again for everything. —With Love, Christina As you review our year end totals, please pray that God will open our student’s minds to understand His Word. Pray for our Bible Club workers to grasp that each lesson that they handle impacts a child’s spiritual life. Elmer and Christina represent two of the 101,773 lessons that we have sent out this year! 253 children have indicated that they have come to know the Lord through their Bible Club lessons. We have sent New Testaments to 2,491 kids, including Elmer. — Holley, Office Manager PLOWMAN’S ACADEMY We go through the routine of our life and jobs without much thought, yet as Christ-followers, our calling is to share the good news of the Gospel and disciple others. The Lord does not give us quotas to meet – He wants us to be willing servants and to faithfully serve those who He puts in our path. The Lord puts people in our path in so many ways – through ads in The Amish Voice, online sign-ups, referrals, word-of-mouth…wait there’s more! We were contacted by a former Amish man in prison. Could we send him lessons? OF COURSE! We now have a number of men in prison taking the Academy courses. Another student found our information in her public library. After touring the MAP office, one lady took home a sample lesson and is now studying with her husband. All of the dear souls taking Plowman’s Academy courses were put in our path by God for a purpose – to further the Kingdom of the one and only God through discipleship! The last two questions in each lesson are…What did you learn from this lesson? Are there any ways that we can pray for you or help in any way? Here is one student’s reply… “We can fully trust God and His Word. He is with us no matter what we will go through in life. I know He is with me, even if at times I don’t understand why things happen. I still trust God. I know in hard times it draws me closer to God. I will trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding. In all my ways acknowledge Him and He will direct my paths. Pray that I can stay steadfast in the Lord. God is good!” Would you pray with us for our students to grow in the knowledge of God and follow His plan for their life? Would you pray for our Plowman’s Academy team to faithfully disciple those the Lord has put in our path? —Ducia, Plowman's Academy Director AMISH VOICE This past year, 81,304 copies of The Amish Voice were mailed to Amish addresses across the United States. This is a 41.25% increase over the past year! The Amish Voice is a 16-page bi-monthly publication which strives to get solid Biblical teaching into the hands of Amish readers and emphasizes checking religious beliefs against Scripture as the ultimate authority. —Michal, Publications
NEW BEGINNINGS HOMESTEAD What a busy year it has been. We offered several young ladies a place at New Beginnings, three of which decided to accept our invitation and move in. Two of the young ladies, Miriam and Rhoda, were saved prior to coming to New Beginnings. They came to us needing a place to live, a place to work, a driver’s license, a GED, and discipleship. Both of them were provided housing at New Beginnings and were hired at Beyond Measure Market. They both have proven to be quick learners and have already graduated from our GED program. Both have also been using cars that have been donated to the ministry for driver’s training. Miriam has recently passed her driver’s test and Rhoda will soon be ready to take her test. Both young ladies have been working diligently on their Bible studies and have been growing in the Lord. Miriam decided to step out in obedience through baptism this past October, while Rhoda has expressed interest in getting baptized soon. Both young ladies have been wonderful to work with. Meanwhile, a third young lady moved into New Beginnings, Lydia. She came to us very troubled and ridden with anxiety and panic attacks. Though she told us that she prayed to receive Jesus on a couple of occasions, she also said that God was not real to her, and we became aware of false idols and sinfulness that plagued her life. In early November, we pressed her further. She admitted that she was not honest with God or herself and was trying to hide her sins. After some counseling, in the privacy of her room, Lydia dropped to her knees, confessed her sins before God, believed that Jesus died for all her sins, and was saved. It has been great to see the transformation in her life since that day! We look forward to the joy of working with these young ladies and any others the Lord sends to us in 2023. —Mike and Kelly, New Beginnings Homestead STEP OUT OF THE BOAT CONFERENCE We are immensely excited about this year’s conference and invite you to come.
