Hello Leander,
My thoughts went your way today, Leander, and I figured I’ll just write. Your Mom gave me your address. They were here one eve. They had been at the produce auction and then just came here afterwards. It was a short evening. They really miss you and long for you to come home. Just like we do with our Johnny.
Oh, if younce could only break loose of Satan and come home. Deep in your hearts you’re not truly happy, and you never can be as long as you stay out in the world.
Yes there are English people that get to Heaven, but God wants younce to be Amish. You were born Amish.
I’m sure thoughts come like, what if I go home and then can’t hold out. Don’t let such thoughts keep you from coming home. You can with God’s help and with all the other prayers of your friends you will find strength to do it. Just give yourself up completely and obey your parents. That is all that God wants you to do, that is make the first step.
And Leander, I don’t know how Johnny talks to you, but please don’t listen to him if he wants you to stay. Our hearts are bleeding every day for our dear son and how we miss him.
I’m enclosing a self- stamped envelope, as thought maybe you’d send me Johnny’s address. He has a birthday August 18th and I’d like to send him a card. We don’t have his address, since he doesn’t live with Williams anymore. I don’t think you boys realize how many people are praying for younce.
You’ll never regret it if you come back, we only have one chance with our life then it is over. May God give you the strength to make that right move to come home to your dear parents.

what makes their world so much better then ours? electricity, cars, computers? those things aren't going to send us to hell, its whats in ones heart. Ive got the Holy Spirit living inside of me and still use modern day conveniences. Why would God want us to live uneducated and filthy, like caveman?

SJF, I think it is a terrible way to show you have the holy spirit living in you by calling anyone filthy, uneducated, and accuse them of living like cavemen. Our lives are to be witness to those who don't know God and bring them to him, Is that what that sentence would do? Have you reached out to any Amish person and explained and showed them the true love of God? If they understood the true unfailing, unchanging love of God , thier lives could change, even if they don't change their lifestyle. If they would become truly Godly loving brothers and sisters in Christ I'm not sure how that would change their "filthiness" or "being uneducated". Just some thoughts to ponder because even if we dont agree with their ways we still have to love them. It's such a terrible position this boy is in, he will truly need a heart for God to not become bitter against his family! Praying!

i called nobody nothing. I simply stated God wants good things for us. The last time i checked, defecating in a hole in the ground and shower once a week is filthy and caveman-like and being schooled until age 13 in NOT considered educated according to the US standards.

@ SJF We can not judge who is saved and who isn't but with your comments I know you don't have the Love, Jesus has for you! I was one of those as you call (Filthy and caveman-like) people until a lady starting calling me every Sunday morning asking if we were coming to church that day. After about 6 times I told my wife we had to go, to shut her up! We went I accepted Jesus as my Savior leaving the I Idea I could work and be good enough to go to Heaven! The lady became our best friend. By you comments I feel you could use some friends I would be glad to become one of your friends.

To any Amish or ex-Amish person reading this, I hope and pray that you know you are NOT going to hell if you are born into the Amish culture and decide to leave it. John 3:16-17 taken from the word of God states, "For God so loved the WORLD that he gave his one and only Son, that WHOEVER believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. WHOEVER believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son." The Bible does not say, for God so loved the Amish, but only those who remained Amish and followed all the Amish rules. My heart goes out to your longing and lonliness for your own son and your friend's son. But really what you're saying is come home under certain conditions. I believe you love your son very much, but those man-made rules are getting in the way of you showing him. God doesn't ask people to sacrifice their children for man-made rules. I am so glad I'm not Amish, because I would die for my sons.

I don't understand, amish don't use electric but yet they will work in stores that have electric, they say the english are wicked yet they have no problem selling products to us, jam, bread, produce etc.. jesus said anyone that believes in him will live forever yet if someone leaves they play god and condemn/scare their loved ones (like what they say matters and is over jesus word). 8th grade education? Really? The doctors that help you when your ill didn't stop at 8th grade, a growing mind is a healthy mind! The lack of education seems to keep them in their place. Wouldn't want them to figure out there is a. Real word out there. To all you ex-amish god loves you no matter what, live life, learn, make mistakes, gods got your back. P.s. why are amish on a computer thought that wasn't aloud? Must be the devil in you.
