Letter to my Dad
March 1, 2016
Dear Dad and Mom,
Greetings of love and cheer from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
This leaves us on Tuesday morning; the morning after we left your house!
You know, Dad, it hurts me to see you so confused and so full of hurt, and in your heart, you just don’t understand how your oldest son (me) can do what he does. I hate that you bottle all those things inside yourself. If you go to man or yourself for answers, you’ll never find them; you simply have to go to God for what you’re looking for.
Anyway, Polly and I were reading in Romans this morning, and in chapter four, we read about how Abraham was a child of God by believing and not by doing works. Read verse 3, for example: “For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.” Verse 2 says, “For if Abraham were justified by works he hath whereof to glory, but not before God.”
You see, if I were to depend on my way of living or how my forefathers lived (that is works), I’d never make it; according the scripture, no one will. A person has to be Born Again (John 3:7) in order to understand what the bible says; otherwise, a person will get their fuel to go on in life by what people say or by what their forefathers always did, and it leads to condemnation. For a person to follow Jesus and just to believe him, he has to forsake all, even himself.
Well, I don’t want to write too much and have to go to work, but I did just want to let you know in closing that I’ll be ordained as a Pastor on March, 12th at 11 o’clock in our church; God has called me into the ministry (John 15:16).
I’ll close off wishing you peace in your heart; I hope that you’ll find answers soon. Seek him, and he’ll answer; that’s a promise (Matt 6:33)!
Thanks for letting us in and for allowing us to visit!
As always, your Son and family.
Below you will see the father's response to his son:
Jesus says in Matthew 5:11, “Blessed are ye when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.” You have done just that in your letter to me. You are not welcome here anymore until things are made right, and you repent. Every time you come, I end up getting a letter full of lies, which you know are not true.
Jesus says, “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.”
Believe me, God knows you are lying when you accuse me falsely. Every time you stop by, then I have another let down in letters from you. NO MORE!! I will burn every letter from now on because it just breaks my heart to be accused by my son like that; don’t write anymore until you repent because it will be forty-nine cents wasted.
You are the one listening to other people, not me. If you don’t have the truth about me, then it’s over between you and I. If that is the love of Jesus to make others feel bad the way you do, then the scriptures wouldn’t be true. But I have to believe Jesus’ word over yours. Sorry!
With a painful heart I’ll sign off (according to you an unbeliever),
Your Lonesome Dad
