Farm Bureau urges Amish horse and buggy regulation

BRANCH COUNTY, MI - The Branch County Farm Bureau wants its state organization to get involved in helping with a local issue that has found no help in Lansing – regulation of Amish buggies and horses.
The county organization passed onto the state, for its consideration, a resolution which states, “We recommend annual licensing of horse drawn vehicles used mainly on public roads and require each buggy to be marked with reflective devices making our roadways safer for all involved.”
It points out buggies have no identification displaying ownership thus passengers cannot be properly identified in anaccident.
