Amish might miss out on child tax credit, warns IRS watchdog

A wrinkle in the recent tax overhaul might cause problems for the Amish, according to the Internal Revenue Service’s in-house public advocate.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act increased the child tax credit, but Nina Olson, the national taxpayer advocate, pointed out a possible problem on Thursday at a hearing on Capitol Hill.
