Some Amish in Ashland County to add blinking light to buggies

ASHLAND, OH - Ashland County’s “English” population has to share the road with Amish buggies.
It can be dangerous for all vehicles when buggies and carts don’t use reflective tape or lights.
Ashland County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Carl Richert has worked with the local Amish and Mennonite communities for years to increase the visibility of their buggies. Now, he’s convinced the bishops of an Amish sect in the western part of the county to encourage the use of blinking lights on buggies.
