Mary Yoder

In this journey called life,
My head is bent low
Because of the pain,
And yet I must go.
God bade me move forward;
“Forsake all that you know.”
So, I pick up my head,
View the bright golden gates,
And onward I go…
Onward, yes forward,
My eyes on the goal.
The bright golden gates
Where we’ll enter one day
Where our tears will be wiped
By His dear gentle hand.
Our pain all forgotten.
In His presence we stand…Healed.
Our family’s rejection
We don’t understand.
How love is so conditional.
Its very presence is banned.
Sisters and brothers, Parents and friend,
Dear sweet nieces and nephews as well,
Relationships crushed & yet we move…
Onward, yes forward,
Our eyes on the goal.
The bright golden gates
Where we’ll enter one day
Where our tears will be wiped
By His dear gentle hand.
Our pain all forgotten.
In His presence we stand…Healed.
All the familiars we left behind.
All that was near to us;
Friends so kind.
Facing a future so new and untried;
Only relying on Jesus to guide.
His comfort and strength
He’s never denied
As onward we go…
We now have a family;
Blood family at that–
Connected through Christ
And the blood that He shed.
They stand with us ever
In prayer and in faith.
Stronger and dearer
Than anything we’ve left.
Pushed to beyond
Our own human strength.
In faith we move onward,
Upward, and forward.
Pressing in closer to our Father God.
Blessed by the Father,
Yes, blessed beyond measure.
So, with faith & with pleasure we move…
Onward, yes forward,
Our eyes on the goal.
The bright golden gates
Where we’ll enter one day
Where our tears will be wiped
By His dear gentle hand.
Our pain all forgotten.
In His presence we stand…Healed.
