Amish presence grows in Washington County

GREENWICH – Amid the fields, farms and forest of Washington County, a new sight has emerged.

In recent months more than a dozen large Amish families have moved into the rural county, establishing farms and lumberyards where they make and sell their wares such as pies and pickles, syrups and sheds.
