Commissioners raise price on buggy plates

The Daviess County Commissioners unanimously approved an increase for buggy plates in the county next year. After extensive talks between county officials and members of the Amish Safety Committee the county has agreed to raise the fee for buggy plates by $50 on the larger buggies.
“A bigger horse, that fee goes to $125 and a smaller pony cart that involves a pony without shoes is $75,” said President of the Daviess County Commissioners Michael Taylor. “It is just like the same thing that people with vehicles are paying except motorized vehicles are more than $300 per year.”
