RICEVILLE, IA - A man was arrested after his vehicle struck a horse-drawn buggy in Mitchell County Friday Night.
Law enforcement officials say Ronald Mayer, 67, of Riceville, was driving a 1997 Jeep Cherokee southbound on Walnut when he struck the back of a horse-drawn buggy operated by Christian Bontreger, also of Riceville, around 6 p.m.

HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP, PA — A 10-month-old girl who was critically injured when the horse-drawn Amish buggy she was riding in was struck by a car this week has died from her injuries, state police said.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday in Hopewell Township, Cumberland County, when authorities say a 56-year-old woman driving uphill rear-ended the slow-moving buggy.

ADAMS COUNTY, IN - The Adams County Sheriff's Office says a woman was killed when a vehicle hit the buggy she was riding in Tuesday morning.
Around 7:45 A.M. investigators say 54-year-old Ida Schwartz, of Rural Monroe was operating the buggy on State Road 124.
Officers say when Schwartz slowed to turn into a driveway, a minivan driven by 34-year-old Zachary Knebel, of Wilshire, Ohio rear-ended the buggy.

TRIPP, SD - A collision between a truck and an Amish buggy Tuesday night has resulted in minor injuries to all parties, according to authorities.
No fatalities were reported in the incident.

DICKINSON, NY — Seven people escaped with only minor injuries after the horse-drawn buggy in which they were riding was stuck by a minivan Sunday morning.

Mr. Monroe was not injured, troopers said.

DRAKESVILLE, IA — Davis County deputies have made an arrest in connection with a hit-and-run accident just outside Drakesville last fall that left an Amish teenager seriously injured.
Last week, authorities charged the driver, Steven Craig Olinger Jr., 44, of Drakesville, with four counts: leaving the scene of an accident; serious injury by vehicle; operating while intoxicated, third offense, and driving while barred.

HOPKINSVILLE, KY - Two people were injured following a pickup truck versus horse and buggy accident around 5:45 p.m. Saturday on Butler Road, according to a Christian County Sheriff’s report.
The driver of the pickup truck, Justin Jones, 29, Hopkinsville, told deputies following the accident that he was driving on Butler Road at 50 to 55 mph as the sun was setting, causing a glare.

BEAR LAKE, MI - Four Amish children who were driving home from school in a horse-drawn buggy were hit by a person attempting to pass them, officials say.
The children, who range in age from 7 to 13, were traveling west on Nine Mile Road in Manistee County at about 3:30 p.m. and came up to the crest of a hill, said Michigan State Police Trooper David Skorka.
The vehicle had pulled out to pass the buggy when the driver saw another car coming in the east bound lane, he said.

MIDLAND, MI - A 30-year-old Alger man was arraigned Thursday in connection with a Feb. 4 Gladwin County crash that left a 20-year-old Amish man injured in a ditch, his buggy destroyed and his horse dead.
Edsel Hill was arraigned in Gladwin County's 80th District Court and charged with driving revoked, denied causing serious injury and reckless driving causing serious bodily function. He was released on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond. The victim remains hospitalized in MidMichigan Medical Center - Midland.

Witnesses at the scene said the truck and buggy were both traveling south along Route 18 at about 4 p.m. when the truck hit the buggy, sending it across the road and on its side. The accident occurred about a mile north of Grange Road, in the southeast corner of the township.

GEORGETOWN, P.E.I. — A judge sentenced a P.E.I. man to eight months in jail after telling him a “lot of harm’’ was done when he collided with an Amish horse buggy while driving drunk.
Stephen Robert Bradley of Peakes will also be on probation for eight months after serving his sentence.
He is prohibited from operating a motor vehicle for two years and eight months.

FRAZEE, MN - A Frazee man was injured in a pickup-buggy collision Jan. 16 on Highway 87.
Samuel C. Schmucker, 22, of Frazee was taken to Essentia St. Mary’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the state patrol.
Schmucker was driving a horse-drawn buggy eastward on Highway 87, at County Road 33, when it was rear-ended by a 2017 Ford F350 pickup truck, according to the state patrol.

MECHANICSVILLE, MD - It was determined that that a runaway horse and buggy was unoccupied by a person when it entered the roadway and was struck by a van after entering the lane the van was traveling in. The horse was pronounced deceased at the scene.

FILLMORE, MN - A 12-year-old Mabel, Minn., boy was fatally injured when the buggy he was riding in was hit by a car at 7:03 p.m. on December 20, 2019. The crash took place at Highway 44 and 401st Avenue in Newburg Township, Fillmore County.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, an Oldsmobile Alero and a horse-drawn buggy were both eastbound on Highway 44. The buggy was making a left turn when the buggy and the Alero collided.
