Northern York County Regional Police said a York County man is dead after an early morning crash Tuesday.
Police said a 51-year-old New Freedom man was driving a 2021 Ford F-250 pick-up truck west in the 5200 block of Blooming Grove Road in Manheim Township at 2:37 a.m. Tuesday when the vehicle traveled off the road, and struck a guardrail and a utility pole before traveling down an embankment.

LOGAN COUNTY — A teenager sustained minor injuries following a horse-drawn buggy collision in Pleasant Township Tuesday.
Logan County deputies say that a Chevrolet Impala failed to maintain a clear distance from behind the buggy and struck the carriage on County Line Road. The collision caused the buggy roll over into the nearby ditch.

STOCKHOLM, NY — A man from Winthrop is facing charges after allegedly fleeing the scene after hitting an Amish horse-drawn buggy in St. Lawrence County.
According to the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, deputies investigated a personal injury accident in the town of Stockholm on June 23. During the course of the investigation, deputies discovered that 56-year-old Wayne S. Arquiett from Winthrop had struck an Amish horse-drawn buggy in the rear which caused two of the occupants to be ejected.

Officers of the Washington Township Police Department report that an adult and a child were transported from the scene of an Amish buggy and car crash Wednesday evening for treatment of serious injuries.
The operator of the buggy, Rudy Wagler, 20 of Lewistown, and his passenger, Alma Wagler, 13, each were transported to Mary Rutan Hospital and then were transferred to Lima Memorial Hospital. Officers said both of these occupants had been thrown from the buggy.

A Cumberland County grand jury indicted Mickel Bates, 60, of Farmville on Tuesday on two counts of involuntary manslaughter and reckless driving in the deaths of Barbie and John Esh, The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported. Bates declined to comment when reached by telephone by The Associated Press.

A Chevrolet Suburban SUV was heading south on Route 89 when a horse-drawn buggy pulled out of a parking lot in front of the SUV, troopers said.

On Thursday morning, three people suffered injuries following a traffic collision in Montcalm County.
As per the initial information, the two-vehicle crash took place on M-91 near the intersection of Briggs Road in Pine Township, north of Greenville. The early reports showed that a pickup truck was traveling southbound on M-91 when the driver went over the centerline and crashed into an oncoming Amish buggy.

An Amish family of nine was riding along in their horse-drawn buggy on Route 44 when a passenger car came up behind and plowed right into them about 1:50 p.m. Sunday, injuring four of them, none seriously, according to state police. All nine family members were thrown out of the buggy, which was demolished by the impact, Nippenose Valley fire officials said. On Friday night, February 4, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Gladwin County deputies and EMS were dispatched to a personal injury accident involving a Ford F-150 pickup truck and a horse-drawn buggy.
The crash occurred on Wagerville Rd., east of M-18 while both the pickup truck and the buggy were heading westbound. According to the police report, the pickup was driven by a 30-year-old man from Beaverton, who was uninjured from the accident. The buggy was occupied by an Amish family consisting of a 32-year-old man, 34-year-old female and six children ranging from a nine-year-old to an infant.

AGreencastle woman who pleaded guilty to homicide by vehicle and DUI controlled substance in relation to a March 2021 fatal horse-and-buggy crash was sentenced Tuesday to a maximum of 23 months in prison on the homicide count.
Court documents say Tabitha Foultz, 21, formerly Tabitha Evelhoch at the time of the crash, was sentenced to three months to 23 months in prison on the homicide by vehicle count and 72 hours to six months in prison on the DUI count. Foultz will be expected to refrain from drug or alcohol use, submit a DNA sample and undergo a drug/alcohol evaluation and complete any recommended treatment, according to the documents.

HOLMES COUNTY, OH – Sheriff’s deputies are investigating after a Millersburg man and his 4-year-old son were killed in a buggy crash in Holmes County on Wednesday.
It happened on State Route 83 in Mechanic Township around 6:15 p.m.
According to the incident report, the horse-drawn buggy was heading southbound on State Route 83 when it was rear-ended by a 2007 Jeep Commander, throwing the driver and his son from the buggy.

TAYLOR COUNTY WI – A 35-year-old Medford man is charged in a Taylor County crash that killed a woman and hurt her eight children. Skyler Opelt is charged with homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle, and four counts of reckless driving. On November 24, deputies say Opelt crashed into a buggy on county highway C in the town of Little Black.
At the scene, deputies had to use Narcan on an unresponsive Opelt. Court documents say Opelt later admitted to snorting some kind of drug. Law enforcement officers say he was also on the phone at the time of the crash. A 36-year-old woman in the buggy died two days after due to her injuries.
