WEBSTER COUNTY, MO - A woman from Seymour has been charged after crashing into an Amish buggy in early June.
According to online court records, 38-year-old Julia Young is charged with second-degree involuntary manslaughter, owner and operator of a motor vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility, and operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner.

NEAR BLOOMFIELD, IA — A southeast Iowa man, formerly from northeast Missouri, was killed Monday when the two-wheel Amish cart he was in was rear-ended by a car in Davis County.
The accident was reported 7:23 a.m. Monday on Ice Avenue, about three miles west of Bloomfield.

SAGE TOWNSHIP, MI - One person is seriously hurt after an accident Friday involving a motor vehicle and an Amish buggy.
Before 5 p.m. on Friday, deputies with the Gladwin County Sheriff's Office responded to a personal injury accident near the intersection of Wirtz Road and Shell Road.

Two siblings were thrown from a horse-pulled Amish buggy Monday morning when a tractor-trailer truck crashed into them as they rode through rural Wisconsin, killing one of the occupants as well as the horse.
The buggy itself was demolished in the crash, which occurred after 3 a.m. on Wisconsin Highway 81 in Darlington, according to a media release from the Lafayette County Sheriff's Office.

Last week’s automobile-versus-buggy accident about two miles north of Seymour on Highway C claimed the life of a 4-week-old Amish baby.
Trooper Nathan Vines of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said in his radio report that the accident occurred at 5:05 p.m. last Tuesday, June 6. He was assisted at the accident scene by Cpl. Kevin Waters of the patrol’s Major Crash Investigation Unit based in Rogersville, and officers from the Seymour Police Department, including Sgt. Gabe Stroud and Patrolman McCoy Watson.

Deputies at the Coshocton Sheriff’s Office say the crash happened at the 32000 block of US 36 in Newcastle TWP.
Officials said, when they arrived at the scene, they found Karma K. Lamb (64 year-old female) of Fredericktown was traveling westbound on US 36 when a horse and buggy also traveling westbound being operated by a juvenile, was stopping in front of her.

SEYMOUR, MO - The Missouri Highway Patrol (MSHP) urges drivers to be more cautious after an infant died on Tuesday after a car ran into an Amish buggy.
According to the MSHP crash report and Sgt. Mike McClure, Julia Young of Seymour, 38, was traveling southbound on Route C, a couple of miles north of Seymour when she passed a horse-drawn buggy with three people inside. Sgt. McClure said Young collided with the rear-end of the buggy around 5 p.m.

BELMONT COUNTY, OH — An update on a crash that happened on Memorial Day involving an Amish buggy and a Jeep at the Belmont/Monroe County Line, according to officials.
Monroe County Sheriff Charles Black Junior tells 7News three juveniles were injured after the buggy they were traveling in with their parents was struck from behind by the driver of a 2014 Grand Jeep Cherokee on State Route 800.

ST. JAMES, MO – A St. James, Missouri, woman died Sunday afternoon after the dune buggy she was riding in overturned along a backcountry road.
According to a report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:40 p.m. on County Road 1140, just west of County Road 1090.

LAGRANGE COUNTY, IN - Five people were hurt, including four boys, after a buggy was rear ended by a box truck in LaGrange County on Monday morning.
Deputies with the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office were called just before 9 a.m. to the area of State Road 9 and County Road 500 South in Wolcottville on reports of a crash involving a box truck and a horse and buggy.

TOWN OF PIGEON, WI - Several people are hurt after a vehicle vs. horse and buggy crash in Trempealeau County Thursday.
According to a media release from the Trempealeau County Sheriff’s Office, on May 11, 2023, around 5:40 p.m. authorities received a report of a car vs. horse and buggy crash on U.S. Highway 53-121 at Brittani Lane in the Town of Pigeon.

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, IN - A Nappanee woman and a horse are dead after police say a buggy was struck by a utility truck on Friday morning in Kosciusko County.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office says emergency personnel were called around 10:30 a.m. to a crash on County Road 800 West just north of County Road 850 North. When they arrived, they found a horse drawn buggy and a Ford F350 utility truck that had been involved in the collision.

DeGraff, OH - Officers of the Washington Township Police Department were dispatched to State Route 235 near County Road 27 for an injury accident Wednesday evening around 10.
Upon arrival, officers learned that Ashley Allen, 38 of DeGraff, was southbound on State Route 235 and struck an Amish buggy occupied by two adults and nine children. Two adults and two children were transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries

MAPLETON TOWNSHIP - Five people have been transported to hospital and two horses have been euthanized after a horse and buggy and van collided in Mapleton Township on Thursday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police in Wellington County said it happened around 8:30 a.m. at 8th Line between Wellington Road 12 and Side Road 18.

CALIFORNIA TOWNSHIP, MI — A crash between a car and a horse-drawn buggy sent one person to the hospital by helicopter and another by ambulance.
The crash happened Saturday around 12:30 a.m. on Southern Road in California Township, near the Michigan-Indiana state line, according to Michigan State Police. The car was headed west on Southern Road near Kelly Road when it hit an Amish horse-drawn buggy that was also headed west in the same lane, troopers said.

KENTON, OH — Two members of the Hardin County Amish community were injured Sunday afternoon when the horse-drawn buggy in which they were riding was struck by a semi.
According to information provided by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. on state Route 31 and Township Road 265 near Kenton.

According to a press release from the Sanilac County Sheriff's Office, deputies along with members of the Argyle Fire Department and Cass City EMS responded to a report of a car-buggy crash on Van Dyke Road near Shabbona Road in Evergreen Township around 9:18 p.m. Wednesday, April 12.

VERNON COUNTY, WI - One person is dead after a motorcycle crash in the Town of Whitestown.
According to an official release from the Vernon County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened on April 9 on Sandhill Road around 4:30 p.m.
Per the report, a horse leading a buggy became startled and crossed into the path of a motorcycle.

Preston, MN - A Hastings man has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and two years on probation for his conviction on charges stemming from a fatal traffic crash in Fillmore County in 2021.
41-year-old Joseph Perry recently entered into a plea agreement and admitted to a gross misdemeanor drug possession charge and a misdemeanor count of driving after suspension. A number of other charges, including a felony drug charge, and misdemeanor counts of open bottle, careless driving, marijuana possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed.

LANCASTER COUNTY, PA — A driver from Coatesville has been arrested for driving while impaired on March 10, around 5:50PM, officers say. The East Earl Township Police Department was investigating a vehicle versus horse and buggy crash on Main Street in front of the Shady Maple Complex, which revealed that Martin's vehicle struck the buggy.
Investigators noticed signs of impairment, and results of a breath test revealed that Martin had a blood alcohol concentration of .205% at the time of the crash.

WATERTOWN, NY - An Amish buggy without a driver to control the horses traveled roughly two miles on one of Watertown’s busiest streets before colliding with vehicles.
City police said the driver, Joseph Zook (no age or address available), parked his buggy at Lowe’s Home Improvement on Route 3, also known as outer Arsenal Street, in the town of Watertown.

VAN BUREN COUNTY, IA — One person was hurt Tuesday morning when an Amish buggy and a school bus collided in Van Buren County, Iowa.
An initial investigation revealed that the horse pulling the buggy got spooked and crossed the centerline into the path of the oncoming school bus, according to the sheriff's office.

TOWN OF OSWEGATCHIE, NY - State police are looking for a truck that they say hit an Amish buggy and took off.
Troopers say it happened on State Highway 68 near Blevin’s Dodge in the town of Oswegatchie on Monday at 6:24 p.m.
They say a truck sideswiped an Amish buggy, breaking the wheel. The driver did not stop.

Mercer County dispatchers said the crash happened in the 400 block of New Castle-Mercer Road at around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Troopers say a Chevy truck driven by 66-year-old Jim Whitmarsh, of Charles City, was traveling eastbound on 140th Street.

TRENTON, NY - On Saturday night at approximately 9 p.m., New York State Police were dispatched to Powell Road in the Town of Trenton for a pickup truck vs. Amish buggy crash.
A 2015 Ford pickup truck operated by Douglas N. Clark, 58, from Barneveld, NY, was travelling eastbound on Powell Road when he struck a horse-drawn Amish buggy, causing it to overturn and eject all five occupants, troopers said.

ORWELL, OH — A man driving an Amish buggy was ejected from his vehicle Wednesday morning after failing to yield at an intersection, Orwell police confirmed to FOX 8.
Police were called to the intersection of SR-45 and Route 322 around 10:40 a.m. for a reported crash involving a semi-truck and a buggy.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - Four Amish family members are dead after the 15 passenger van they were in rolled several times Friday morning. It happened on Highway 20 just north of Wellsburg. One adult and three children under the age of five died. Several others were injured.
Officials have not released the names of those killed. No one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt or in a car seat.

Two people were injured when a driver crashed into an Amish horse-drawn buggy in Otter Tail County on Wednesday.
The incident just before 11 a.m. saw a 42-year-old woman from Deer Creek driving a Ford Explorer SUV on County Hwy 50 when she crested a hill only to see the buggy at the bottom of the slope going the same direction.

Yet another Amish horse-drawn buggy versus automobile accident in southern Webster County occurred last weekend, this time on U.S. 60 in Diggins.
According to Trooper J.W. Philpott of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident at 7:10 p.m. last Saturday, Dec. 31, which was New Year’s Eve, was the result of the buggy failing to yield to traffic.
