The Hope Of The Gospel
| September 1, 2011The hope of the Gospel is an amazing thing. In Hebrews 11:1 it says that faith is the substance of things hoped for... According to this scripture, hope is the foundation of faith. Psalms says, "Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God."

What Does The Bible Say About Paying Taxes
| September 1, 2011What did Jesus teach his disciples about paying taxes? We will see that the Bible is very clear on this issue. If you read Matthew 17:24-27, you will learn that even Jesus paid taxes: The Bible says, when Jesus and his disciples arrived in Capernaum, the tax collectors came to Peter and asked, "Doth not your master pay tribute (taxes)?"

Do Not Harden Your Heart - Hebrews 3:7-13
| July 15, 2011Paul starts Heb. 3:7 by writing, Wherefore as the Holy Spirit says... and then quotes Psalms 95:7-11. By quoting Old Testament scriptures to these New Testament Christians, Paul is making it quite clear the Holy Spirit still speaks to us today from the Old Testament. In fact, in 1Cor. 10:1-11 he tells us the things that happened to the children of Israel while they journeyed in the wilderness were ...written for our admonition...

Facing The Storms of Life: Anchored In Jesus
| July 1, 2011When the storms of life threaten to overtake us, anxiety and fear arise. We might not see the course before us. Blinded by worry, we can't see the spiritual blessings God has enroute. Satan stirs these fears, paralyzing Christian progress.

Of Garments and Bad Apples
| July 1, 2011If we had a few barrels of apples and put them into cold storage at perfect temperature and humidity, sooner or later one apple would rot. Then another and another until they are all affected. As you have heard said, one bad apple will rot the whole barrel.

Drawing Lines In The Sand
| July 1, 2011A young man died and went to Heaven. He had only recently become a Christian, but not a member of any particular church, so St. Peter showed him around the heavenly mansion. In one room were people sitting in quiet prayer. These were the Amish. Down the hall were people shouting in every language. These were the Pentecostals. On and on they went until Peter suddenly held his finger to his lips, and said Shhhh,"we have to be very quiet going by this room." "Why? the young man asked."

God Has A Plan And Purpose For You
| July 1, 2011Paul said, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Eph 2:10 This indicates that before we were born God had a specific plan for us but in the previous verses he is saying that we can not be saved by these good works. We must first be born again in order to fulfill the plan he has for us.

How Deep Will You Let The Arrow Go?
| July 1, 2011Imagine how you would feel if you saw someone who had been shot in the heart by an arrow. What would you think if you saw the wounded person, gasping in pain, grabbing the arrow and pushing it in, causing even more pain and damage.

Does God Speak to Us Today?
| June 8, 2011This reasoning is; I hear from God myself, I don't need any man to tell me how and what "my God" has for me. I find this kind of statement terribly prideful and arrogant. Now hear me, I am not saying people don't hear from God, I know they do, I sometimes do myself. However, I am not infallible, I may get it wrong, maybe I am emotional, stressed about something, bottom line is if I think I heard from God, I better test it, with the word of God first of all, the Holy Spirit will never give you something that does agree with scripture and point you to Jesus, for the glory of God.

Fear Can Cripple Your Christian Walk
| May 1, 2011We often face spiritual and emotional storms, feeling tossed about like small boats on the ocean. Despite terrifying conditions, when we trust Christ, he gives peace in the storm.

I Know How You Feel
| May 1, 2011One day, when my late husband was drawing closer and closer to death, I was watching him and our son playing in the living room. Our little boy was just shy of three year's old, and he was oblivious to the inevitable future without his daddy.

The Titanic
| May 1, 2011We all know the story. The Titanic, a British passenger liner, struck an iceberg off Newfoundland on the night of April 14-15, 1912, and sank. It was a tragedy of enormous proportions. What a splendid ship! Everything a ship designer could imagine was built into it. It was beautiful, magnificent, TITANIC!

Is What Jesus Did and Said Enough?
| May 1, 2011I have often asked the question, "What is my faith based on?" ¨ Is it based on the word of God? ¨ Is it based on some creed or belief system? ¨ Is it based on some man, or just because grandpa said so? ¨ Is it based on tradition or even in a church or particular denomination? What is the foundation on which I am building on? ¨ With all the political shaking going on in the world and all the economic instability, will my faith be able to stand? ¨ What if persecution comes to America, will my faith stand the test?

What Is Faith?
| May 1, 2011Hebrews 11:1: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. The whole chapter of Hebrew 11 tells us what faith is about!

Why Is It So Important To Believe Jesus Is The Son Of God?
| March 1, 2011The church was just in its very early stages of growth. Peter and John had been imprisoned overnight for preaching Jesus as the most important person ever in God's dealing with men. If you read Acts 4, you will realize that the above statement was part of a very short statement as to who Jesus Christ is and was.

How Do I Deal With Everyday Problems?
| March 1, 2011God has given us specific information on how to handle the difficulties of life. All believers are surrounded by persons, places, events, situations and problems. As we live and move among people and problems, God has told us what we should be doing.

Nonconformity
| March 1, 2011Romans 12:2 Says, And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable and perfect will of God. I have been meditating on this scripture for quite a while and I am sure most of us have heard this verse quoted many times. But have we ever really stopped to think what this verse is really talking about?

Who Is God?
| March 1, 2011We claim God as perfect. It is essential that we know and teach that God is unequaled in love and power. That is why he wants us to trust in him for everything in our lives! If we really do trust him, then we love him. If we really do love him, then we trust him. If we worry, it is a sign we don't quite trust God.

Is Jesus Really God?
| January 1, 2011In these days the question arises more frequently than ever before. Recently when the "World's Squarest Teenagers' was shown on British TV, their visit to a mosque had the statement from a Mosque leader to the Amish teenagers that they didn't believe Jesus was the son of God, but a prophet.

A Good Attitude Will Change Your Life!!
| January 1, 2011John is the kind of guy that is always in a good mood and always has something positive to say. When someone would ask him how he was doing, he would reply, 'If I were any better, I would be twins! If a friend was having a bad day, John was there telling the friend how to look on the positive side of the situation.

Our Eyes: Fearfully and Wonderfully Made
| January 1, 2011Do you realize that without our eyes you would not be reading this now? Without our eyes you would be unable to see any of God's creation. Psalms 19:1 says: The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament showeth His handiwork. God shows Himself to us, in part, by what we see.

Liberty And Freedom In Christ
| November 1, 2010I have to admit to you that I have changed my way of praying before writing-instead of saying, "God, what do they need to hear?", I ask, "God, what do I need to learn?"

Fearfully And Wonderfully Made
| November 1, 2010Psalm 139:14 says, "I praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." This verse talks about our bodies and how perfectly they are created. It tells us how wonderfully our physical bodies are made. This idea of "fearfully" means that we have respect for what God has made. God has made something (our bodies) that show just how smart and powerful God is. The word "wonderfully" agrees that what God has created is good.
